Hi! I had my first plecos l144 and when they hatched in my aquarium the shrimps (caradina) killed them in like 2 secondes. So i removed the hatched plecos and put them in a breeding box with a air pump. This works fine. Yo mentioned that you put Neo caridina inside the breeding box. Do you remove them when the egg hatched? Or is there a difference between the neo caridina and cardidina. Less aggressive?

How can I tell males and females. I have a variety of plecos I'd like to breed.

Thanks for your videos my bn pleco spawned eggs yesterday and they dad kept leaving them so I've put them in a breeder box with airline and air stone but since moving the eggs the male is still trapping the female is this normal?

i do a hybrid method. i keep the eggs with Dad until wiggler stage then I pull the wigglers. :)

So the secret to breed them is to already have them and breed them.. good advice.. 🙄

Mine been in a tank for 2 weeks nothing have 2 males 4 females the females are super large, bigger than the ones in this video, I feel like they will never breed :(

We don't have those package foods here in Dubbo, NSW, Australia and now my Plecos have gone off the pellets we have and I don't know what to do. They won't touch veggies either. They live off whatever algae is growing on the tank and decore.

Zebra pleco's here are $300

Not a fan of the northfin kelp wafers, they pollute my water qucikly with all the little bits that come off. I might get the sera catfish chips and the bug bites sinking formula.

These are my favourite fish, they’re pretty reclusive and smaller than other bristlenose plecos but they are just so beautiful. They do look like stars in a night sky and when they do appear I can’t stop looking at them…more pleasure with these than any other freshwater..thanks for this video!

Ok so for weeks my plecos have not been eating they have been picky!! They hate bell pepper, carrots, green beans (canned and fresh), and broccoli! Tried mushrooms and tofu and they are actually eating!😂 I have some picky buggers

My pleco has only a beta 3 corydon so 5 total so my water always green algae but it’s clear when I change 3 days later changes up 😮 lighting ??

My make is on a piece of drift wood near the eggs but not close enough, but is still fanning them??? The eggs are behind the filter and idk what to do. They were all yellow on Tuesday, its now Thursday and some are either broken of have gone clear???

I really enjoyed your workshop. Where do you get a pleco feeder. We dont have alot of suppliers here in Washington, Mo. Nor alot of places nearby. We have found that we love our plecos and and slowly decreasing our other fish, and just going to pleco. I love them!!!

I let a lot of biofilm grow before I got my juvenile bristle nose. They won't take anything I add for food. Number 1 should be keeping some wood in a tank to add or replace when they clean off what they have.

Northfin is a very messy food unless you have a bare bottom tank. Don't use it unless you are willing to do the water siphon more often. I will say most tabs are messy. Fresh veggies are best.

Hey Jeff, I only had 1 female bristle nose in my 45-gallon. I've had her a couple months, she may have been eggbound, but I removed her since I saw she was dead in the tank, and I said wow her belly is swole and slightly pushed on it and bout 20 little eggs popped out and I have the eggs in a breeder box but idk what to do since I have no male and not sure if the eggs will even survive. Should I immediately go get a male bristlenose and put him in the breeder box?? All other factors are a go. Just not sure what to do next. Thanks!
